What format are the videos you are trying to play? MPG is the "accepted" format. And, are the video files located on a Windows computer in the default Libraries -> Videos folder?
If the answer is no to any of these questions, then I'd suggest you run a server software on the computer that will transcode your videos to the accepted format etc.
dcd; I don't think you understand the problem. There is no problem playing the videos. I have yet to try a format that does not work. I can play Mpeg2,3,4, AVI, even mkv. The problem is the screen saver cuts in after 10 min.
That is not the real problem. The real problem, that I discussed with Direct, and with people here on these forums is; There is no help for this problem, either on this forum or Direct support. I am not the only one with this problem.
Through-out all of Direct TV's sales literature they tell you all the wonderful things you get with Direct TV but when you try to use it, it is just not there and there is nothing to be done to get it, there is a long list of things Direct promises that they do not deliver, and there is nothing I can do.
This forum is no better. I have brought many problems such as this, as yet I have never gotten any help. (But that is my fault because I complain too much, and don't do all the nit-picking little things required by the local experts).
The camel's back is loaded with all this, and the last straw is about to come, if Direct does not provide the SEC Network, I will be a Dish Network customer in August.
I have been a customer since 2003, I have watched my service go downhill and my price go up, I have never received a "Free" upgrade, (yes I have the maint. package) like I said the promise a lot and provide nothing.
