Can't sign into HBO GO with DirecTV

I am trying to get to HBOGo using any device (Samsung TV, iPhone, etc.) everytime I go to the HBOGo.com activation page I select the device and select DirecTV as my provider. It brings me to a login page and I type my ATT credentials. These are the credentials I use when logging into any ATT site (att app, directv.com, att.com, etc.). I then get a message saying:

"You'll now manage your service with an AT&T Access ID. Click here to finish setting up your new Access ID, then come back and log in with that ID and password."

I click the "click here" and it just brings me to my ATT page (which I am already able to login to!). I then go back to the HBOGo.com webpage which takes me to the DirecTV provider login and the same message comes up when I try again to login. What is the problem?!?!

Who is "them"?  ATT or HBO? Which device? Sorry if stupid questions but I have battled this for what seems like forever.  Thanks

In my experience, the problem was with DirecTV. Ask them to make sure the email address they have for your account matches the one you use to login to MyATT. Mine had some random numbers added on to the end (?!?!) and when they updated the email address, it started working for me.

We had the same problem.  After spending several hours on the phone and being transferred to several different people, who had no clue, we almost gave up.  Instead, as a last ditch effort, we went into our ATT account and changed our user ID to an email address and then went to HBOGo and activated it using the email address instead of our usual user ID.  It worked!  I’m furious that this issue has been ongoing for MONTHS and still no one at ATT/Direct TV has fixed it yet.  😡

A csr told me that directv was going to do the same thing that Netflix was doing in regards to one account on one device so you can’t share it. My wife and daughter watch their shows on the tv but when I try to watch a news program  on my phone it won’t let me. I’ll try the resync thing to see if it works

Can someone please contact me in regards to my login issues with HBO GO on my TV?? I have spent over 2 hours today working out my login credentials since you merged my Directv and ATT accounts. After finally gettin that squared away, I no cannot access HBO GO on my TV because when I choose Directv as my provider it brings me to the Directv log in page which wants an email address to log in. I no longer use an email to log in and it keeps denying my credentials. I have called customer service twice. One rep says it’s the same credentials (which doesn’t work) because one is an email and one is a user name, and the other states HBO GO is no longer available after April 12th. I find that funny as I had no issues logging into the HBO GO APP on my phone using the same log in info I use to access my bill. This whole merger has made everything a headache

Not only do I have the same problem and none of the above fixes it but I can log into my Directv app and Directv.com and stream all shows except HBO. If I try to access HBO all three say that I’m not subscribed. Chat keeps telling me that my issue is being “escalated” and I’ll receive an email within 24hrs. That’s never happened. I’m thinking if this doesn’t get resolved that I may be forced to take all my business elsewhere.

I had the same problem and I changed my username to my email address so that it could work but they also told me that if you access your Att account then go access your HBO GO acct that might work as well. I finally got it working but I tried so many things, I honestly would have to start from scratch to make a flow chart that would work. Hope this helps

Same with me, I've been on the phone for hours and kept getting transferred. The last agent told me I had to call HBO and have them fix my problem since it's a third party app and it's HBO's issue because I am able to log into my ATT/DirectTV accounts. Seriously, I'm ready to cancel Direct TV for good after being a loyal customer for 18 years. The agent was not helpful and transferred me to a supervisor who was equally unhelpful and then they hung up on me. I work in technology and can't believe they have not been able to resolve my issue for over a month now. There obviously is an account synching issue between the two networks and they want me to be the middleman to get it resolved with HBO. They should be taking my account info down along with my login email and contact HBO and have them check to see if I am in the system. Worse customer service ever and am extremely disappointed that I have been paying for services that I am not getting.

Same!  This is ridiculous!  I had no issues with using my HBO GO app until about 2 weeks ago. Then all of a sudden my account ID is not valid.  I've been transferred back and forth to every department they have because no one knows what they are doing and today I got the "I have entered in an escalation and someone will contact you" answer.  No one could tell me anything except this is a known issue and only a few customers are experiencing it which means it is low priority for them.  I cannot believe how much DirecTV has gone downhill since merging with AT&T.  There is a reason I have NEVER had any form of AT&T service.  If they cannot get this issue fixed ASAP, I will cancel my service and go somewhere else and they will lose a 15 year customer.

Nothing worked for me, same here. I was told it’s a 3rd party problem....OMG just got DirectTV thru AT&T. Had dish and wish I still had dish. This is horrific I get the foreign operator that keeps saying. Thank you Mrs Burns I can help you and then tell me to change my password. Thinking I cant get into my att account OMG I have no hair left....Please I do not mind if you out source but good lord get someone that understands english....
