Directv account billed through CenturyLink

We receive a combined billed for our CenturyLink services and our DirecTv Services.  We will be disconnecting all our CenturyLink services shortly, how will our Directv services be billed and by whom?

Cancel CenturyLink and that opts out of combined billing. You should get a final bill for CenturyLink by itself.

DirecTV will start billing you directly, now with the AT&T logo as they now own DirecTV as of a couple years ago. Since DirecTV bills CenturyLink and then they bill you to reimburse them, it is possible that last combined bill for the prior month may arrive around the same time as the bill only for DirecTV for the current month arrives. Or if this was caught before CenturyLink billed it, then the amount could be returned to DirecTV where you say the prior month and the current month on the same bill. You do not pay twice for the same service month, but you could see those two bills really close together when it changes. Just something to be prepared for.

I am THOROUGHLY disappointed in Century Line and DirectTV,   I have been a GOOD paying customer for 30+ years!   Was never notified of this....I went to pay my Centlink bill and it was smaller and notice DTV was off.....I search internet and found out what was going on.   THEN I find out they will disconnect my DTV tomorrow because THEY said I haven't paid.   My bill has been EVERY MONTH ON TIME!   As soon as I figure out this mess they have created I will be CANCELING my services and going to a new provider.  30+ years and we get treated like this, is unbelievable!

This thread is about how the bill works when you cancel CenturyLink. Your situation sounds like your combined bill was opted out, but not at your request, which is a different situation.

Opt in or out of a combined bill is done through the bill partner (Century Link in this case). Once your bill with DirecTV is current, call Century Link (rebranded as Lumen) to opt back in. Though personally I would avoid a combined bill as it is much easier to read a company's own bill instead of translated onto another.

They are not "treating" you like anything. Sounds like just an error. If you wish to cancel over that then that is up to you. You will need to call DirecTV to do so instead of posting to a discussion that ended in 2019.
