HOA won't allow dishes.

I've had the NFL Sunday Ticket since it first began. I have recently moved and my HOA will not allow a dish. Last year I contacted DirecTV and this lovely gentleman made an exception and allowed me to purchase the NFL Sunday ticket without the dish. I streamed it on my fire Stick. I'm originally from New Orleans, but now live in Tennessee and must have my New Orleans Saints. I was excited that the season is about to begin only to find out that I can't login with my email address and my password any longer. When I tried to reset my password I was told that my email address was not recognized. I then contacted DirecTV who referred me to AT&t. They said that my email address was no longer valid because it was encrypted?? The gentleman said that he submitted a request for an exception as I received last year. That was several weeks ago and I've not heard anything back. I kind of got the feeling that he was brushing me off and didn't believe that I actually had the NFL Sunday ticket the year before. I offered to send him a screenshot of the charges on my credit card. So right now with the season about to start, I don't see a pretty picture in the future for seeing my Saints. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The FCC OTARD act prevents HOAs landlords from stopping a dish install in places under your exclusive control like a patio/balcony.

If I go against the rules it would cause a lot of issues with my neighbors.

So long as your property is listed as available to receive DTV you can't get the streaming option no idea how a CSR got around this last year.

It’s not against the rules as @shannon02 stated. As long as you have a clear view of the southern sky from your balcony or similar outdoor area, you can get a DIRECTV dish put there. As a note, since you have an apartment, technicians are limited to what they can do about hiding wires. If wires aren’t a problem for you, you should be fine.

I have no idea. I was billed for the service and received the service. He submitted it one afternoon and I had approval the next morning.

I went to the link but when I put in my address it says I am not eligible. Even though I'm not allowed to have a dish in my neighborhood. I am confused as to why I was allowed to do it last year but not this year as far as a standalone package goes. I would be more than glad to show the charges on my credit card.

Federal Regulations (OTARD) sperceede your HOA rules. They canot forbid you from having a satellite receiving dish. You are allowed to have it in a place under your exclusive control, such as a balcony or patio for example.

HOAs have way too much power (factual or perceived) to where they by nature bully the residents. Wish Federal or other would step in more often and reel them in.

I am confused as to why I was allowed to do it last year but not this year as far as a standalone package goes.

Because someone made an exception for you that they weren’t supposed to do.

It is also possible that something updated in the system between then and now.

That was last year. This is this year. A lot can change in a year.

An hoa not allowing satellite dishes doesn't make you eligible for stand alone Sunday ticket having no line of sight would IF a tech confirmed nlos and actually closed the work order for nlos
