Not to worry, as whatever replacement box they will send is guaranteed to have an HDMI port. SD-only content on satellite 101 is being shut down so SD receivers/SDDVR receivers are obsolete. If you still have this type of equipment, you can be upgraded for free by requesting a swap (from SD equipment and an SD dish to HD capable equipment and the modern SWM slimline HD dish).

Hello there, We want to help you to improve your experience with the genies available with HDMI connectivity. DIRECTV offers many options for you. We have Genie and Genie mini with the HDMI port for DIRECTV SATELLITE service. For DIRECTV STREAM service, the stream receiver has available as well the HDMI port. Please follow the next links for further information about the two options. I have trees that interfere with HD reception. Can I still get a genie box?

Do you currently have DirecTV Satellite equipment? What model numbers?
If you can't receive all of the DirecTV satellites due to trees, you should consider alternatives. Perhaps DirecTV Stream service?

@Lightbridge
All (current) DirecTV boxes provided have an HDMI port as it is an MPEG-4/HD capable service.
If your current boxes don't have HDMI, then you have an outdated setup that must be replaced. If trees were the concern, tech will only know if still an issue upon attempt of install. If those trees still are a problem for the HD signal, then it is either trim the trees or find another service.
