USPS Zip Code Change - No Locals - 75036
The USPS recently changed my zip code from 75034 to 75036. The street address is still the same. DirecTV says they cannot give me local channels at this address. However, the FCC website says locals are available. Any ideas how to get DirecTV to refresh their USPS & FCC feed?

So are you saying you had the local channels when the zip code was 75034, USPS then changed you to 75036 and DTv stopped streaming the local channels to you?
If this is true, please call 1.800.531.5000 - you want to talk to technical support and explain to a technician what has happened. There should be a way to re-enable it for your account.

Hi tgreaves - I'm a brand new customer to DirecTV. The DirecTV Local/Network Channel Availability finder shows that I'm supposed to get locals and the FCC site says I am too. But, for some reason the actual system that DirecTV uses to program says no locals. Any ideas?

Let me check my system. After typing in 75036 and putting it in my end. "More than likely, we have your local channels!", in saying that give us a call at 1.800.531.5000 and we can do a test over your address and so forth. The website search isn't always correct.

Make sure they have the correct county selected that makes a difference in some zip codes.

I no longer get local channels because of the same zip code change. In addition, I stopped getting at&t sports net (which allowed me to watch the astros games) because of the switch too. I spent over an hour on the phone with somebody and they just never got what I was trying to say.

This really shouldn't be a problem any more. The correct local stations are shown at www.directv.com/locals , so those are the channels you should be getting at that zip code.

@rlesser11725, the link you posted refers to "dtv", which in this case means digital tv (over the air digital) NOT directv, All the info on that site is citing over the air (antenna) broadcasts, it DOESN'T have any correlation as to what locals are available from directv or any other pay tv provider.

Unless the directv local channel lookup tool needs updated, it shows the same dma for BOTH zip codes so it has to be a county thing if you're not getting them, the tool doesn't specify county because I only had the zip code info that you provided and not the full address.

This is just a screwup. 75036 is a new zip code in Frisco TX (part of the DFW area) and of course you get locals, there are no county issues involved. When you call, the DirecTV CSR is using an outdated tool that probably does not even have 75036 in it.

Please... please ... please SOMEONE figure this out. ATT doesn't have a clue how to solve this. Ihave spent over 5 hours on the phone with att and they just don't get it. My issue is ch. 674 (att sports net) which I used to be able to watch the Astros. Now, since zip changed to 75036 I'm not in the regional network ONLY during Astros games. Att sports net works fine otherwise.
