Why bait the consumer with free money gift cards to change

I was told if I can to AT&T I would receive a free $50 gift card, never got, so why bait consumers and make false promises. That's not good business practice!

Merchants and Creditors should always use the principal of honesty and the use of trustworthy words with their customers at all times. Living up to this principal will indeed keep the customer satisfied with the merchant and creditor. False representation of promises of promotional gifts is not a good business practice and will soon shy away potential customers and remove the current ones. Customers now days use social media to determine the best products and services to buy and use, they would not consider AT&T with this type of business practice whatsoever. I still have not received my gift card since April 2017, when I switch over to AT&T!
