Can a genie be used as a modulator
I have a little Direct TV Genie (Model: C41-500) box that isnt being used. I have a TV monitor in a spare bedroom that i want to hook my outdoor over the air antenna to. The TV doesnt have a TV tuner in it so there isnt a place to connect a coax cable to.
My question, is there a way to use this genie as a modulator to connect the over the air antenna to the TV to view over the air digital channels?
So the coax cable would connect to the coax outlet in the house and then connect to the Direct TV genie, then an HDMI cable would go from the Direct TV genie to the HDMI port on the TV.

Nope. DirecTV DVRs/Genies have no off-air tuners. But you can buy stand-alone off-air tuners for this purpose. You'll find lots of them on Amazon, for example ....
