Connecting Direct TV to Sony Sound System

What is model number of your TV and What is the Model Number of your SONY sound system? What D*TV Receiver are you connecting?

Thanks for response.  The Sony system is BDT-T58, and my Sony tv is a Bravia, not a smart tv.  The TV is about 10 years old and the Sony sound system is about 7-8 years old.  My direct tv receiver is from AT&T and only has one HDMI cable to connect to TV.  I had XFinity box before and prior to that another AT&T box for cable to connected to the sound system.  I’m still able to watch DVDs with the speakers but can’t get them to work with my Direct TV.  Thanks in advance!

What Receiver did at&t send you? a box with only a HDMI output? --Does it have any red -yellow or white connections on the back?

Some AT&T Receivers you can add a dongle to get those connections you need --The Type of receiver you have is most important information for anyone to help here.  

Use your remote --menu -setting - display to get the receiver model --your TV should have the red and white audio output to connect to your sony sound system 

Thank you once again.  The receiver model is C71KW-400.  It does not have red, white and yellow connections on back.  

That means your out of luck --looks like you need to upgrade your sony auto and your tv
