Directv on demand has not worked sinceinstall

Mine has not worked since install. Did the refresh direct form the company, the double refresh red button, support call refresh, unpluged it over night and set I back up. Internet is att and connected. No on demand service. Did clearmybox. Refreshed network settings. No firewall on router even though it is cat 6 ethernet connected. Switched to wifi for 48 hours just to hope. No luck. TV shows says updating check back in about an hour on demand does not work. Signed up for use on my vacation and have spent the entire vacation with att and directv on the phone. I'de love for the service I pay for to work, especially since it took 4 different install dates for a tech to want to install. Yes to be clear, the first 3 techs came and said they didn't want to install because they were cold. Lol this is such a joke, I was fine on Cox apparently.

NEVER trust the "internet connected green check mark on the main menu, (I never did anyway), do a repeat network setup and go from there

It appears the box is faulty. At gig up gig down att the box says internet speed is too slow. Used same cat 6 cord to laptop pulls just at 900mbps up and down. The box can't handle the speed and either has faulty hardware, firmware or both.

i've replaced boxes twice and continue to have this same problem.  There is no point in having premium networks if you can't use on demand.

They will be out today, the last of my vacation to bring a new box and start the 24 to 72 hours over again. Use the att fiber internet direct wire gig up gig down, does record shows but still no ondemand. For laughs I still have Cox and plugged their gigablast in and still no on demand. So definitely not an internet issue. Speed is great, router isn't blocking it. It seems the only people with fully operational genies are those who have a receiver pre att directv.

There are enough people on forums here complaining that ondemand and other services are not functional enough for att and directv to have voided their contract and be in breach thereof for knowingly putting out bad non working equipment to allow me to cancel if this issue is not resolved without taking a hit from them.

Tech just came out. There is a major outage for ondemand caddy issue is what he said.

Tips to try it will erase your dvr data.

Hold red button on side of box. When blue light comes up push 02468 on remote. This will force update the box and erase everything. If this does not work you need a new dvr box.

WRONG!  It's never a good idea to force a software update.  It's too easy to get beta software that will leave you in worse shape.

Second, a software update does NOT erase everything.

Usually a simple red button reset will suffice.

Did you copy and paste that to every forum? Lol. It works. I just did it and every update came through with ondemand now working. Go somewhere else with your opinion, the fact is, it worked.

Just to confirm a simple red button refresh absolutely did nothing! My ondemand that never worked from install is now working via my own recommendation. Sometimes the expert has to submit to new equipment and new methods because the old way no longer works. Please don't copypasta my posts. Thanks!

No, sorry to say that YOU are wrong.  The 02468 process will force a download of whatever software happens to be in the satellite stream.  That could be beta test software.  Most likely it's the same software you already have.  Your problem would was likely solved by the reset, not any software "update".

I will always call out incorrect information.  Please get your facts straight.  Forcing the software download had nothing to do with fixing your issue.  Most likely the same thing would have happened using a CLEARMYBOX keyword search, or resetting twice within 30-min.

Glad your issue was solved.

Clearly your reading comprehension is horrid or you just didn't read my entire post. Clearmybox had been done 24 hours nothing several red button resets and refresh from directv nothing, forcing update pushed to original software and then pushed a new firmware and ondemand works. Sorry you're wrong and you're taking it so hard. My solution provided opportunity for correction and it worked within 2 hours after months of issues. You clearly have no idea of what you're discussing. Let me know when you start programming these boxes and when data for firmware is stored in a satellite instead of in files already in the box gui.

Believe what you will, @StrickxNyne.  You're the one confused about how forcing software downloads works. Best wishes to you.
