Dropping DirectTV and returning equipment

DirecTV has nothing to do with Prime Video.

If HBO is through your DirecTV subscription, then it will no longer work once account is canceled.

You obviously have access to streaming if you have Prime Video, that means you have access to HBOMax. If your subscription to HBO is through Directv, you will need to start a new one directly with HBOMax.
