Genie 2 dvrs in 3 rooms
So I just got a genie 2 earlier this week for Christmas. I have three in my apartment and I was wondering if you can only DVR shows on only one TV in this house. I don’t want my DVR recordings to show up on my other two TVs as my family and I have different shows and movies. Please help.

If you got the Genie-2 (HS17) then you are forbidden from doing what you want. This model only allows Clients which are extensions of it. Simply put you have 3 TVs sharing 1 DVR, is the easiest way to look at it.
A regular Genie (HR34, HR44, HR54) and 2 HDDVRs (HR20 thru HR24, or special R22) gives more capability than the Genie-2. Not only is that 9 tuners (compared to the hard cap of 7 from the Genie-2), but you can hide a DVR's recordings from the other TVs if you want one to be private. You can also turn off remote deletion so that you don't risk one room deleting recordings from another though still allowing them to watch for convenience.
This is why I am not a fan of this model. Unfortunately the Genie-2 is a downgrade for the flexibility of your setup.

If you ever switch to a regular Genie setup, remember any Mini Genie Client will still see the recordings of the main Genie. They can't work without it after all. But you could hide the Genie from other HDDVR (HRxx) models on the setup or vice versa.
I can only assume the Genie-2 (HS17) restrictions are so the company has a cheaper simpler setup, even though it removes options from the consumer.

First off there is only one Genie allowed on the account all the rest are mini clients unless you also have HRXX or HX receivers.
Second only the Genie and any HRXX receivers can record the programs as those are only ones that have a hard drive.
There is no way to disable the playlist showing on any mini client.

Ok I had a feeling that what I wanted to do won’t work for me as I have the HS17R1/500. Thanks all.
