Genie isn't working

My genie is not working. I have unplugged the power source to reboot and have pushed the red reset button and it will work for a short while and then the screen freezes. It won't get unstuck (cannot use guide or anything) until I reboot and then it works for a short while and the problems start all over again. I've rebooted several times. The three receivers that are connected to the Genie will not work. Screen states "no servers were detected. I have two old receivers that are not connected to Genie and they working. I've called DirecTV twice. The first time I was on hold for 55 minutes. I had to get back to work and hung up. I've called again, currently on hold - 45 minutes so far.

What is your Genie DVR model number?

Sounds like it's defective. You'll need to keep calling and be patient. Call Centers are swamped with many centers closed and agents out due to coronavirus shutdowns.

Minis won't work if the genie isn't working because the genie is their server hence the no servers detected message on the minis, the genie needs replaced and the only way to do that is to call customer service and suffer through the extreme wait times. Recordings don't transfer so they're gone they would be gone regardless if the hard drive is failing.
