Program Vizio to DirectTV Remote

try this....

put the slider in tv mode, press and hold "select" and "mute" at the same time and the light should flash, release select and mute. push the number buttons "11758"  light should flash again. that should have your tv power and volume programed. to program the tv input button press and hold select and mute again tell the light flashes, release select and mute and push the number buttons "960" the light should flash again. everything should be programmed now.

Things seem to be functioning now, only thing I can't do is turn on both tv and directv receiver with the Dtv & TV power button.

Yeah, that doesn't work with some TVs. 

You are not supposed to used the PWR button, instead use the OFF & ON buttons.

Try these codes for your Vizio Tv with the directv remote 10178, 10019,  or 10036

that last code probably should've been 10056.

The code 10056 has remote working perfectly.

Thanks for this!  I was having a similar problem with programming the input function for my Samsung TV and did not know about the "960 thing".  Worked great!

After nearly an hour on the chat line with the Directv help guy, I still could not get my remote to work; when I gave up, and came here, the first code you listed, 10178, worked instantly.  You may have saved my sanity!

10178 worked for programming my Vizio M60 C3  ( m60-c3 ) with a directv remote.   I am so glad that people posted this and confused as to why directv does not have it on their updated list of codes.

Well I* have spent hours with three different D TV "techs" / they dont know what they are doing. After several years with D TV my remote suddenly would not control volume and mute at all. called the  :tech" ..tried same stuff I already tried..no go,  finally she said well sometimes that happens cant be remedied!!! called again..another tech ...she reset receiver from her end and really screwed it up..remote would not work at all   zero  zip and she didnt know how to fix it! She said i would have to call them! Third call..that girl was real nice and after an hour we got the remote to function however ..still no volume or mute control with D TV remote,,so she was at a loss also. I had already purchased a new remote from them which was a waste of money..it also does not control vulume or mute. Someone has got to think outside the box here! If I had volume and mute with a D TV remote, and somehow lost it.....I can never get it back! Thats ridiculous...

did you tried the steps posted as the solution for ths thread? @bnls143Lin

well I have tried every code there is, and every combination of things 6 times over and still my dtv remote does not work the volume and mute. It did ast one time, before Christmas! Also talked with techs 3 x, they are at a loss...no help there. Anyone have a suggestion "outside the box"?
