Do the power cords & remotes need to be returned along the genies & Deb?

Yes, they do get returned along with the physical receiver. Be sure to ask the clerk at the UPS or FedEx store for the shipping receipt as that is your proof of return in the case DIRECTV makes a mistake and claims they never received your equipment.

Receivers (including normal HDDVRs and Genie), as well as Mini Genie Clients, get returned if they still want them back. Power cords go with them, though remotes are an owned accessory (which 'might' be accepted back with the return).

What do you mean by "Deb"?

You didn’t have to box them up as FedEx/UPS does that for free as part of the return.

You just take the receiver/client boxes to a participating FedEx/The UPS Store. You are re not supposed to box up yourself as they have to be scanned in along with your account number. They do a mass return, not individual shipments per their agreement with AT&T/DirecTV. Make sure to keep receipt showing they took possession.

However, if DirecTV sent you a prepaid return box (by FedEx to be returned by USPS) then that is the old return method used only if over 10 miles from a participating shipper.
