What equipment do I need if I install a TCL model #32S305 smart LED TV?

I will be installing a new TCL Model #32S305 smart 32 inch LED TV and replacing the old TV in my kitchen. I now have two boxes under the old TV that were installed by Directv and I need to know what new equipment I will need for the new installation.

The two boxes hooked up with the old TV are:

AC Adapter

Model # EPS10R3-1

         AND

A Black Box with no name as to what it is other than Model Number C51-100 DIRECTv on top and the dimensions are 3 3/4 in. X 6 in.

plug ins are: SWM Only - AV/Out - HDMl - USB - Digital Audio - Power In

What ever I need do I get it from Directv or a local independent dealer such as Best Buy?

C51 is a Mini Genie Client. That is the box that brings the service to your TV, what your remote tells to change the channel.

So yes, unplug HDMI from old TV and plug into new one. On the new TV you will just have to change the input/source to the one you plug into (HDMI-1, HDMI-2, etc.)

If you were connected to the old TV by something other than HDMI, especially if the old TV was not HD, then you will need to unplug that cord from the Mini Genie before plugging in an HDMI cord. You would then need to update your settings for HD: Menu > Settings & Help > Settings > Display > Preferences > Guide HD Channels. Change from Hide HD Channels to Hide SD Duplicates.

Whether the prior TV was an old set, or just an earlier HD model, you want to make sure you are set to the quality of the new TV:

Menu > Settings & Help > Settings > Display > Resolution. Just make sure the highest resolution your new TV supports is checked.

You don't need anything more, you unplug the HDMI cable from the old TV and plug it into the new TV.  If the old TV didn't use an HDMI cable then you will need to get one DTV may send you one or buy one online or from a store.

Many thanks Shannon02 for such a quick reply and an easy solution to what I had assumed might be problematic for a non-geek such as myself.

You're welcome. I just went out on a limb that the old TV was not an HD one so wanted to make sure the picture looked ok. Enjoy. 🙂
