Please help! Can't figure out how to log in to our TVS!

I am at a total loss.  We signed up for Direct TV at our local ATT store the other day.

I have two cable boxes and I plugged them and connected them to our TVs this afternoon.  I've been trying to log in to Direct TV for the past six hours and it's saying that it doesn't recognize the user ID, that "it's not the one I used when I signed up."

I tried to log in to the Direct TV website, and the weird thing is that the login info. works on the website, but NOT on the actual TV setup screen. And just a couple hours ago, the Direct TV site itself went down and now you can't log in at all.  We can also log into our ATT account online no problem.

Also, I'm totally confused about the ATT aspect of this.  Is your ATT account login info. the SAME as your Direct TV login info?  Or are they are totally different?  Do you need two sets of usernames and passwords to access both accounts?

I don't remember the sales guy at ATT ever helping us set up a Direct TV account, so it could be that we still have to register?  But it would have been nice is somebody there had explained that to us!

DTV sat has to installed a dish and the receivers, AT&T stores don't have DTV receivers or did you get the streaming service?

It’s DirecTV, not Direct TV. That may be a slight difference but typing it the wrong way could result in going to a scam website. In any event, you don’t log into your tv’s if you have Directv satellite service. It sounds like you got Directv Stream which is a separate service from Directv satellite. Moving the thread to the Directv Stream forum.

Assuming you have signed up for DIRECTV Stream service ( no satellite dish is required), please find your user ID associated with your DIRECTV Stream account by visiting the below link:

https://www.att.com/acctmgmt/fid/accountinfo

Please click "forgot contact email" and enter your DIRECTV Stream account number and zip code to find the correct user ID. 

If you get an error, then you will be required to create a new one. Follow the steps in the below article to create a new user ID
