Connect external HD

Is it possible to connect an external HD

to the Directv Stream box

for the purpose of increasing recorded shows capacity?

No, it is not possible to connect an external HD to the DIRECTV stream box

for the purpose of increasing recorded shows capacity.  Or at all.

It is not possible because, with DIRECTV stream, the DVR recordings are stored "in the cloud," not on your devices.

Dtv stream box is more reliable. Plus the remote has number keys so u can change channels via number. Remote also has buttons that take you directly to dvr recordings, the guide, menu, record, previous....also ff/rewind have tiles so u can see your progress--firestick does not have that.. There isn't an dtv stream app for ps4

??????????

What's the box's internal hard drive used for then, if not for recording shows?

The DIRECTV stream box does not have an internal hard drive.

If you do not believe me, check the FCC testing tear down photos here:

So.....

What is the advantage, if any, to

having the box as opposed to just using

the Streaming app on a PS4?

I mean, if there's no internal HD on the box,

what use is it?

Seems like just another plug for the wall and

an expensive drink coaster.

I tried hooking an external keyboard to mine. Wow. Entering passwords for Netflix and such was way easier!
