Directv server not working

We have had a problem with DIRECTV servers with no help whatsoever. For three weeks we have not had tv service, we purchased two boxes outright, $120 each. One day they just went out and a message on the screen says “there is an issue on our end, try logging in later. code care 500” and will not allow us to sign into our account. After hours of troubleshooting and speaking with many people at tech-support, having been sent a replacement box for absolutely nothing, to being told it’s not the boxes it is the server on the DIRECTV end and we just need to sit tight and wait for someone to call us to tell us issue was resolved. Dont call us, we’ll call you!?! This is ridiculous! No one calls back, no one fixes the issue. We have tried changing username and password, it works fine when we login from our phone or tablet, but not through the box. IT IS NOT ON OUR END, BUT YOURS!!! No amount of troubleshooting will fix this on our end! We are paying $90 a month for service we cannot even watch through our TV on the boxes we purchased that were supplied by you!!! We were told since it’s past 15 days we cannot get refunds for the box so we can get the money and use it towards fire sticks. We were told if we want to use the boxes we have to wait for someone higher up in tech-support to call us. They do not call. Three weeks later we still sit. Customer service also said they will not refund our monthly service even though we can’t watch it on our TV because it’s streaming and we can watch it on our phone. Are you freaking serious? Like we want to watch movies and shows with our family on a phone! We bought the boxes because we prefer the boxes and did not want the fire stick. If this is DIRECTV‘s way of phasing out the boxes, that is bad customer service to not even give a refund for them and force them to go out and buy fire sticks on top of it.… and to not even refund the TV service we couldn’t even watch!? We better get someone to call us or we’re canceling everything including our Internet. We pay over $170 a month for this crap! FIX YOUR SERVERS OR GIVE US A REFUND FOR THE BOXES AND SERVICE WE COULDNT USE!!!!

I guess you tried to do the red button reset with an ethernet cable plugged in. They are not phasing out the boxes in fact there was just a software update a couple of weeks ago and they are supposed to be coming out with a new box in a few months. Not sure why you think there is an issue with their servers I've not had one service interruption since I subscribed and been using their stream box.

@spinejam - the forums are a customer-to-customer thing, not customer service.  The reps that occasionally pop in are basically useless.  We (other customers) can't do anything about fixing your service or giving you a refund, or getting someone to call you back - you need to contact Customer Service for those things.  If you haven't had satisfaction with the first level Customer Service reps (and that isn't completely surprising), demand to have your call escalated (right then) - that is much more likely to get you someone who can help than depending on someone calling you back.
