Improved picture quality

I’ve noticed since near the time of the name change from AT&T tv to Directv streaming my picture quality on my new Samsung 4k has been greatly improved. Was the software improved on the refresh resets? Curious. Been with AT&T and Directv streaming since March 2021.

The only thing that happened during the conversion was the name change. An upgrade to the DirecTV Stream or your TV software may have improved the picture quality.

For the first four or five months with AT&T tv and my new Samsung 65” curved 4k tv, more than half the time when I would turn the android box and tv on, it was like an old tube amp warm up with fuzzy ghostly faded colors which eventually after a lot of experimentation may finally come on full. Now, for last few months, I just hit the on button of the android box and within a few seconds I have a full perfect picture instantly. Performance is like day against night. Seems very solid performance now. Btw, my other two HD TVs with their android boxes auto setting to 1080p and 1080i respectively were always clear and never gave the warm up problems I had with the 4 k tv.

I also have a Samsung 4k TV and the picture has really improved since they rolled out that on/off HDR toggle software update with the Dtv Stream box a few weeks ago. Much better than the cable tv I used to have. Pic quality is optimal for me with HDR toggle off and set to 1080p on the Dtv Stream box.

There have been updates to a number of the apps over the last few months, and the bespoke streaming device has had both app upgrades and an overall upgrade to Android TV version 10.  Any of these could have included improved PQ, but none were directly connected to the change from AT&T to DIRECTV.  As far as we can tell tell, the only change directly connected to that was the branding change - all the others could have happened shortly before or shortly after that.

I looked inside settings of android box and they added HDR switch and lesser HD levels. Mine has stayed on max 4k level HDR on. It looks about 3D.

I am sure the name change was to rid the stigma associated with AT&T.

Directv help

Why don't you know how to help customers that can only receive 2 streams at the same time and why do you misleadingly advertise "20 In Home Streams"?

Asking for other customers as I won't be after November 15.
