Was told that unless we pay $199 our Direct TV would be disconnected!

Guy just called. Said he was with Direct TV and if we didn't give pay $199 our Direct TV would be disconnected. He also said that our bill would be $40 less for the year of the year. He said he could use a card they already have on file. He gave my husband a number 347-593-8761 for technical support

Just got a call from someone saying they were from AT&T

Said they needed to update our receivers and that they were going to give me a $30 credit on my bill every month for the next two years but they wanted me to send them $160 now that I would get back in 2 months. Total scam!!!!

Same issue as listed-there is no solution listed.  This is silly.  How is it that so many are having same issue and nobody knows answer.  It cannot be equipment related because these other 290 people don’t live in my building (I don’t think they do anyway). Please advise

excessive charges when closing accounts.

Called to close DirecTv service today.  Was told my account would close on 10/21.  Today we are 11 days into our billing cycle.  Why am I being charged for 20 days I won't be hooked up to your service?  Spoke to manager Daniel, and he said he could not override the date, but I needed to contact AT&T

Billing me for something I don’t watch

I do not appreciate being billed for a sports fee.  I don’t watch sports. So disappointed.  I am a long time customer and was told I would just have to pay it. Terrible customer service.  What happened?  Used to have much better customer service.
