DTV Stream Sound (Edited per community guidelines)!

Have had DTV stream for a few weeks, only switched from Youtube tv to get Regional Sports Network. I am already regretting it. Several times a day, whether watching "Live" or from Library, the sound just drops to a barely audible level, or EVEN WORSE, the sound starts to "chatter", or screams out static. The LAST STRAW: tried to watch the CMA Awards last night; the first 30 minutes were a disaster, nothing but cracking static. If I go to You tube, I can watch the intro and 1st 30 minutes with perfect sound.  How do I know this is a DTV stream problem?

1. Never had a similar problem when using Youtube tv.

2. Don't encounter the problem when watching a different streaming service.

3. AND MOST SIGNIFICANT, if I back the show up 30 seconds and then start to play, again, the problem does not reoccur.

Anyone else encountering this? It's getting so bad that I am about to dump DTV stream and just watch hockey on espn+.

Hello Jordan.  I apologize for not responding sooner.  I tried all of the recommendations, which did not resolve the sound issues.  Just to note that changing to another station and then changing back will circumvent the issues, which IMHO is some type of memory corruption that affects the audio, and changing to another station and changing back corrects the issue until it occurs again.  Again, no other streaming app service that I subscribe to has this audio issue.  Again, DirecTV Stream is the only app that has this audio issue.  I do not have any audio problems when I use HBO Max, Discovery Plus, Amazon Prime Video PBS, and accessing my PLEX media server.  Again, I hope this response helps your technical persons resolve this audio problems with the DirecTV Stream app.

I have the same issue. I'm getting really tired of it. I'm giving DTV 1 month to fix the issue. At that point I'm switching to a different streaming service.

The post from JoeBios01 was the "secret sauce" formula for all of my different Roku devices.  Using the settings that he recommended, this was the "workaround" for my audio problems/issues.  Setting the Roku configuration to get the device to prefer Dolby Digital was the work-around of the issue.  For well over a month, a rarely still hear bad samples.  These settings seemed to fix the Roku audio going in the dumper 🚽persistently (as JoBios01 so eloquently put it :) .

The Roku settings again are:

Settings/Audio/Streaming audio format to Dolby

Settings/Audio/Digital output format/Custom - Dolby

A shout out to JoeBios01 and a hearty "Thank You Very Much" for your solution recommendation!
