...and has been stated before, they are only 1st level reps that primarily work from common scripts and provide at best support documents. They can not resolve major issues and only pass issues to the support engineers. You are better off to go directly to the support specialists for updates. The service rarely (if any) post updates to the forum.

@bcbsncjlj how do we get to the support specialists then? Whenever I call, I get the same first level support people who go through scripts with no way to escalate to a higher tier. This much has been said several times on this thread, where you get who you get when you call in.

I would think a thread with now 7 pages would warrant some feedback from someone higher on this forum.

Calling or using the chat is the most preferred way to get support. Ask for a specialist or supervisor. Ask for updates. No one here would have any idea what is going on. It's bad, I know, but it is what it is. No one here within the forum has any inside path to the engineers or management. Continuing to rant or post continuously in the forum is getting nowhere, as you know by now. I can only suggest that you continue contacting the support rep. You need to ask for compensation for lack of service. They give rebates for other causes, and you deserve them for the outage.

DirecTV has commented in several of the Starlink threads that they're aware of the issue and working on a solution. Who knows how long that will take, though.

@TroyClark

The point of this forum is for other users helping each other out. The official "help" team is a small group that is supplementary to customer support. They can sometimes help with account specific things, but the issue this thread is about seems to be higher then what they can deal with.

I am not saying it is a Starlink issue. What I am saying is that DIRECTV STREAM and Starlink are the only TV provider and ISP affected respectively. This is unique to the two of them together. As DIRECTV STREAM is live TV channels where indvidual location matters, as opposed to a library (Netflix, etc.) that only cares about country and that using a VPN seems to be a workaround, it sounds like location reporting between the two is the issue. Though that shouldn't result in a speed degredation problem message.

So with the issue seeming to be between both, it is suggested to contact each of them to report the issue. With that it is ongoing, and no specific answers from either, that is where you might consider a BBB complaint. That does send it to the corporate level. If you choose to do so I would submit it for each of them to have all bases covered.

DirecTV shipped me 3 new boxs. Did that fix it? NO NO NO. Heck, I could have told them that. It frustrating as all get out. Natch the Streaming has a glitch, AFTER I send back all my SAT stuff, and take it all down. grrrr. Computer still can not get it either, using Starlink. When using Hughes, I get it, but the bandwidth limits make it unfeasible.

You guys are still dealing with this???   I CANCELED directv stream already and have been using HULU.   Also you can use Sling or others.   Works perfect on Starlink.

Yes many are still dealing with this, but only with the Starlink ISP. So something communicating between the two seems to be the issue.

But as you are canceled, well enjoy. You can always look back into DIRECTV STREAM once they and Starlink figuer it out. Or change ISPs to any of the others not affected.

@Juniper I know its only Starlink.. Thats the whole point of this thread!     @johnvoss1 I switched to HULU..  But there are many others..  Youtube TV,  Sling TV,  etc etc.

I liked HULU as when I pay with my AMEX platinum I get a 20 dollar credit each month. so saving me money.

@Juniper it is NOT only Atarlink...I duplicated the problem on a friends Muama Ryoko hotspot/router running an AT&T sim

Now this is strange. Could the problem be an update that we installed via Starlink.  I hooked up to my brothers Starlink, via a repeater he has, and tho very slow to hook up initially, it is working. How can his Starlink get DirecTV Streaming, while mine stopped, tho still gets everything else? Anyone else tried this?

Drmax, from what I've read, I think it's just Starlink users in CA..

I don't know how it works, so I couldn't explain why it's happening

Good morning,

Despite my cancellation of the DirectTV Stream I have tried to find a reliable workaround by subscribing again to a nonworking app. I hated to do it, but my wife likes DirectTV Stream the best. We had cancelled Dish Network before to get away from high prices in programming and equipment user/rental fees for DVR etc.. She was spoiled with Dish's simplicity. She does not like the not so streamlined YoutubeTV app. AT&T still has not fixed the problem. No surprise there as only Level 1 support is working on this. I'm now convinced that the DTV developers don't even know about the problems with Starlink and we have no way of getting to them. I have contacted AT&T three times after my last post. No support is available anywhere. This is really sad. Please note also that there is no viable @DirectTVhelp visible in this forum anymore.

Here is a workaround for owners of a higher end Netgear router which that has built in VPN features. Other routers may have similar features. We have the AX12-RAX120v2. Netgear is using PureVPN as built-in provider. I have purchased a subscription and have activated this feature. DirectTV Stream is now working reliably again with Starlink. The VPN subscription is cheaper than switching around the different Streaming providers. Network speeds suffer a little bit but it brings some normality back into our house. However, you can turn the router's VPN feature on and off when not watching TV. Tune it to the nearest City for best speed. Los Angeles is the choice for us. I will now complain to BBB as Juniper has suggested and will also write a registered snail mail letter to AT&T's Office of the President in Texas. With all my negative experience in the recent past (Phone, DSL and Fixed Wireless Internet) I cannot say even one good word about AT&T, but we chose and love to live in a more rural area where we do not have much choice in communication providers. Starlink, despite the much higher price, for us made a huge difference. Hope, this post helps some folks as an interim measure. Have a good day.
