Sometimes I can’t pick up a signal on some tvs that are currently using a fire stick if I used the direct stream device would that eliminate the problem

Not sure what you mean by "weak signal"? Where are you seeing that message? Is it an issue with your WiFi signal?

I think OP Is asking if the Dtv stream box gets a better Wifi reception vs firestick. Well--don't know if it does but u can always use an Ethernet cable with it. Dtv stream box uses Wifi or Ethernet

I think if you are getting a week signal from your wifi that any other device would also get a week signal I would look into options to increase your wifi signal strength or do like what @Ludwick577 suggests and connect using an ethernet cable.
