BeIN Sports channel removed

Why bein sports is being removed?

This channel is one of the only reasons I still have Directv. If this channel is not back I'll cancel DirecTV.

I’ve had access to comcast throughout the years, so I can provide some details. When Comcast did carry the English and Spanish beIN feeds, they NEVER provided HD stream. And didn’t provide the channel in their GO stream. Think mobile remote access.

Comcast customers would be confused because games would be transmitted in HD, and the picture would say HD, but was only standard definition. If you asked beIN about it, they tell you to write to Comcast. So clearly there’s a unique bargaining for this broadcaster.

And yet Att U-verse never suffered from this problem. If you subscribe to U450 package, you get HD streams and access to all 10+ streams in their app.

If individusls place value on beIN above all else, there are alternative ways to subscribe to the beIN service. If you want DTV to carry the channel, lobby to get it, but in the end it’s up to the service provider to deliver.

It's disappointing to lose beIN Sports en Español. No other channel offers La Liga and other European soccer leagues, World Cup Qualifiers, etc. I'm thinking about dropping DirecTV for other provider. Package price is too expensive already, and few channels I really care to keep.

As of today, BEIN is off of Uverse. I'm my area, there are NO cable subscription packages that carry this network.

Good luck finding a provider that carries it. Seems like many have dropped it.

I will give Direct TV a month to bring Bein Sports back. I have been with them for 13 years. But I will drop them like a bad habit if is not back by the end of this month.

Be sure to read all of the posts in this thread.  It's not up to DirecTV to bring them back, it's up to BeIN.   Switching providers may not help because several others have also had to drop them.

What is wrong with you guys, i called 3 times already and you tell me the same thing, “we are currently negotiating”. Well im giving your “negotiations”until Sunday, if not im out, the only reason i have Directv is for La Liga. You and Comcast are forcing us to view the English Premier League, it’s not going to work !!!!!!!! There are many places we can watch for Free ! The only thing stopping our current population from going cable/satellite free is sports ! If not we would just have Netflix and other streaming services. Think about it !

They are not forcing you to watch anything. What you watch is up to you. Negotiations continue until both sides come to an agreement, or they fall apart all together. If beIN Sports weren't wanting to raise costs, which would affect our (the customer) bill, then negotiations would have completed sooner and in our favor.

No sports is not what is stopping the population from going to streaming providers. Not every one of us has good enough internet, or internet at all, to support streaming on top of anything else our household would use. But we still have the sky available so satellite will remain a viable option for a long time to come.

May come back? What are we talking about in terms of a rate increase? A couple of bucks? Five? I'd be willing to pay more, but if it doesn't come back and SOON, we'll dump Directv.

no channel is worth $5 more a month

they can do the same they did with the outdoor channel

make it a single station add on

but i bet bein does not want that

they want the revenue from as many people as possible

dont raise my rate

Depends on the channel. International channels, I'm familiar with RAI, get between 10 and 15 USD per month and that's not even delivered in HD.

With the loss of Serie A, BEIN probably can't compete. But I was still watching for motogp and the occasional French and Spanish games.  As someone else pointed out, la liga is far too imbalanced.
