BeIN Sports channel removed

Why bein sports is being removed?

This channel is one of the only reasons I still have Directv. If this channel is not back I'll cancel DirecTV.

I was paying Directv only for Bein Sports to watch soccer games. I will definitely switch in a month when my contract expires.

Please read the previous posts in this thread.  The issues with BeIN have nothing to do with AT&T taking over DirecTV.  BeIN brought it on themselves with AT&T and several other service providers.

Some here say that they are customers and no DIRECTV advocates. Well is hard for me to believe that more than advocates they sound like DIRECTV TROLLS if they are not, then they are incredible naive and ignorant those who defend DIRECTV in this matter.

First I recommend everyone interested in this issue download the podcast World Soccer Talk episode released on 09/06/2018 is an interview to an Executive of BeIN sports please listen to the network side.

After few weeks of this ordeal I had the chance do researching and the reasons why really Comcast drop BeIN is because the network can't guaranteed to the carrier the BeIN will hold the rights of the leagues. Which is an absurd demand from Comcast no one can guaranteed any contract, NBC can't guaranteed the EPL rights after 2020 but NBC own Comcast so Comcast do not have the same demands. DirecTV have different deals and drop BeIN is a friendly move to other deals DirecTV want. BeIN want to be offer in lower priced packages because will expand distribution which will allow them more and better sponsorship face access to more advertising if more people have access to their network but if DirectV put BeIN in lower packages DirecTV make less money fo carrying the network . Has been 6 years BeIN is asking this to DirecTV and can't. For BeIN is a matter of survival is allow them to compete in a fair market but all this cable and satellite companies are more that distributors of content they also own content sometimes directly some times indirectly or dealing with owners of content to please them they do what monopolies ask to do.

BeIN removed their feed to DTV and all other providers so how is it the providers fault?

Are you asking me? really?
So if I own a land and you offer to work in my land and I tell you sure but I wont pay you so you decided to don't work the reason you don't work is not because I don't pay you is because you decided to don't work that is how you see things?

So that's BeIN's perspective.  But if DirecTV and other providers add BeIN to their "lower" packages, they would have to charge more for those packages.  There's no free lunch here.  Unless BeIN is will to take less money, it's understandable that Comcast, FIOS, UVerse and others are saying "no thanks".

Bottom line ....  This doesn't look like either side will blink any time soon.  If BeIN is critical for you, then it's time to switch providers.  Just be sure that provider won't also be dropping them.

Sunpacy, I am with you.  A lot of these “ACE” writers seems to only see things through Directv’s rose tinted glasses.  One keeps saying to read all the comments in the thread in order to clearly come to the conclusion that this situation is Bein’s fault.  This person must be completely ignoring what you and some others are writing.

 I really wonder if a lot of these writers on here somehow getting some sort of compensation from AT&T… Pushing  Directv’s‘s agenda so that if disgruntled customers comeon this thread, they’ll read the propaganda and perhaps convince some of them that DIRECTV is not at fault.

For anyone to tell me that it is definitely Bein sport’s fault, you must have inside information on the negotiations. Otherwise it’s 50-50 who’s fault it truly is.  And if you are some kind of mole who has that information, tell us what you truly know. How much does Bein get paid per subscriber?  How much more is Bein asking for?

The one thing I do know is that DIRECTV has been losing value for me year after year after year, and the price just keeps going up and up and up and up. I am a huge PAC  12 fan, and have been pretty angry that some sort of solution hasn’t yet been reach there.

I have been with DIRECTV for over 20 years, and if Bein sports isn’t brought back quick – Directv can call me gone too.

DTV/AT&T doesn't give me anything.  Who in their right mind would sign a contract to loss money?

BeIN removed the land DTV and all other providers pay for and want to charge more for to send to other people.

How do you know they are actually negotiating ? You only know this because you called DirecTv and that's what they say.

http://worldsoccertalk.com/2018/09/04/bein-sports-will-not-bullied-us-media-giants-says-exec/

In that link, go to the 6th paragraph, might not be the most legitimate source to get information, but at least it's not JUST from DirecTV. You have a great point, but if you think about it, most of us pay satellite/cable because of football, boxing, soccer, rugby, etc... I'm sure if Netflix (for example) decided to stream live sports, this would be a major financial hit on most TV providers. Netflix and Hulu already stream tv shows provided by tv providers, not as fast as we would prefer, but it's only $10. Now Sling Tv has bein sports and few other not so relevant channels for only $10, and the champions League could be watched from Bleacher Report for a $10 monthly fee also. In total $20 vs DirecTV $70 - $80.

Only DTV and BeIN know when they are talking and they don't tell anyone else.

Yes but what about the people that have slow or no internet and guess what will happen to the prices of those services when they have to pay those sports teams?

No that are Facts the fact that BeIN is asking to lower package deals since 6 years ago is not perspective.

no they don't have to what they have to do is make less money from it. until the expansion of the channel allow them to have more advertising because they have more distribution is an investment.

@litzdog911wrote

No but a lot corporate dinners between ESPN NBCSport COMCAST DTV FOX trying to take aways the TV rights of la liga from the little man that's why they are trying to strangle BeIN

@litzdog911 wrote
Unless BeIN is will to take less money,
BeIN is willing to have the same deal and COMCAST (Owned by NBC) want to get the rights of la liga DIRECTV have others deals with Comcast and NBC so help with this one allow them some benefits

it's understandable that Comcast, FIOS, UVerse and others are saying "no thanks".
Or You are so naive or you are paid by Directv or you are a DirecTV troll playing the role of customer

Who you are trying to convince here that multibillion companies who dominate the pipeline distribution of content will loose money for lower the package? WAKE UP WHO EVER YOU ARE If you lower the package more people access the network programs have more rating, advertisers place more money and BeIN are able to bring more leagues the idea here is make BeIN fold so NBC can buy the contract that BeIN have with la Liga that ends 2020 WAKE UP @litzdog911
