Guide is not displaying the program playing - shows "to be announced" or "title not available"

On some but not all channels, guide will not show the program playing or scheduled.  It shows either "to be announced" or "title not available".   And it is intermittent on a channel - the 2:30 program name may display, but then the 3:00 gets one of the previously mentioned messages.  This is across most channels, including national broadcast(ABC, CBS, etc).

Hi @PerryConrad

We'll do our best to help! Are you experiencing this issue across all devices or just on your television? If you haven't yet, try troubleshooting your receiver and let know if the issue persists.

Thank you but it has resolved now. I reset the primary DVR/Receiver, and I
don't know if that resolved it or not but a couple of hours later it cleared
up.

I have the SAME PROBLEM!! So, this is some system problem. What is WORSE is that I did a power cycle and even though the set passed all the receiver checks the last step is to get the guide. This STOPPED the set from coming up!!! I even did 2 cycles of the red reset button... SAME RESULTS- hung forever trying to get the guide. There was no way to break out so I could just select my channel number and watch. The set was hung with no way to break out. What a CRAP software design. You need to get some real software developers. By the way, the changes instituted back in Nov 2017 ARE STILL BROKEN AND MAKE THE UNIT SO HARD TO OPERATE BY A DISABLED, ELDERLY PERSON!!!! The forward reverse bar STILL BLOCKS ALL THE TEXT THAT APPEARS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN.

Time to leave directv.

"To be announced" continues to be shown on channel guide for channels beyond local stations. Used to be periodic problem. Now it's  continuous.  Have unplugged/  replugged. Have to reset using red button several times daily. Level of frustration increasing.

After reading these chats, this problem has been going on for years. It’s 2021 and I’m having this problem. I do a hard reboot and it fixes it for only about an hour. I’ve resetee it 3 times within 30 minutes and again it fixes it but only for about an hour. This is frustrating as (Edited per community guidelines). I have to use my phone just to see what’s on the guide :( Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks for reaching out @lalacalixts6to, we are here to help resolve your missing guide concerns.

Do you have an on screen display error code when this happens? (i.e. error code 920).

Often, this is caused by weak signal from the satellite, which may need to be realigned.

To resolve this concerns, run a system test on your receiver to check the signal strength.

Refresh your Direct TV channels and service. Find out how to restore missing channel and channel guide by refreshing your Direct TV equipment.

Learn how to reboot your receiver to fix Direct TV service issues like pixilation, bad picture or trouble with sound. Reset your receiver to fix problems with your Direct TV service.

Let us know if you need further assistance.
