Guide Show Descriptions

I would like to know who, not person but responsibility, for the descriptions of shows shown in the guide.  The reason I am asking is that I go to the guide and find either a good description, no description at all or "No information available", or a description that clearly does not fit the program.  I am not talking about one time shows but shows that are in series.  A good example is a show called "Motorsports Hour".  The description, constantly, is:  "Sports, Auto, Racing.  Car crashes and other extreme motorsports action."  This simply is not true!  Oh there are times when a crash may be shown, but overall it is a review of recent races in different series.  Why can't we get ACCURATE DETAILED information for ALL shows?  Then another issue, along the same lines, are shows that have been previously show however the description does not indicate that it has been previously shown.  Usually when you click on INFO, in the description it will say, first aired on X/X/XXXX (specific date).  However, since AT&T took over, many times a repeated show may not show anything relative to when it was first aired.  We find this very frustrating.  We view this as a situation that would fall under, "If it is worth doing, it is worth doing right."  However, we also find it not at all surprising that these types of changes would happen after AT&T took over.  Don't know how many are aware of this but a large study was conducted online of over 22,000 consumers relative to corporate attitude toward customer service with the consumers filling in the names of companies best described as "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly" and by far, AT&T was shown to be THE VERY WORST COMPANY in business in the U.S. with something like 85% voting against AT&T.  Now, we all know that this type of study is not scientific and it is true that a very frustrated and/or irritated customer or previous customer might try to influence the results, but with 22,000 participates, one would have to spend a great deal amount of time going online and supplying answers repeatedly knocking AT&T and would likely quickly tire of the attempt.

So, in summary where do the show descriptions come from found in the guide and what can be done to improve the accuracy of the descriptions?

Guide Data is provided by the various networks to Tribune News Services, which provides the database to providers like DirecTV, Tivo, etc.  So it's up to the networks/stations to provide accurate and timely information to TNS.  DirecTV doesn't really have anything to do with it.

The channels write them or gets them from other sources and then sends them to the third party guide maker that then sells it to DTV and other providers same with the air dates and other info.
