MeTV channel
MeTV network , previously on DIRECTV channel 55 in the Dallas/Fort Worth area was supposed to change to channel 136 beginning 07/15/2022. We still have rental movies on channel 136 and now channel 55 is Spectrum news. Is MeTV on another DIRECTV channel? We want our MeTV back.

You have me completely confused:
"the AT&T channel guide" WHAT AT&T channel guide? DIRECTV has three video services, AT&T U-verse, DIRECTV and DIRECTV stream. Which service's channel guide did you look at. If you used a web page, what URL?
"now channel 55 is Spectrum news" did you switch to Spectrum as your TV provider? As far as I know, Spectrum doesn't offer its Spectrum News channels to any other video provider. UPDATE: Oh, I get it, per Wikipedia, "As of July 15, 2022, Spectrum News 1 Dallas-Fort Worth is avaliable over-the-air via KAZD." KAZD was a MeTV affiliate before. DIRECTV didn't change anything, KAZD changed affiliation for its primary digital channel (i.e. the ".1", 55.1) from MeTV to Spectrum News (MeTV apparently is now on the 55.2 "subchannel"). As a result of this, DIRECTV might (or might not) have decided to offer National MeTV on some other channel.

To verify locals for your area: https://www.directv.com/satellite/channel-lineup/?tab=rsn
If it got moved to a sub-channel, then it will not be available as DirecTV only carries the main locals (if they have an agreement of course).

DIRECTV cust serv knows NOTHING about this and believe it’s a technical issue. AT&T (the owner company) is still broadcasting this am on 136.

All of those channels in the 100's are PPV movie channels, so METV would not be moving there. Looks like your local station has switched networks and dropped METV. It's likely on an over-the-air subchannel of one of your local stations, but you'll need an off-air antenna to get that.

After my cust serv non experience for missing MeTV channel, I checked the DIRECTV channel lineup for the packages. MeTv is not listed but COZI is listed as included on most packages. I don’t have it on my channel list (with the Choice pkg) so wonder where THAT one is or if it’s just “filler” in bait and switch. Anyone know a channel # for COZI?

136 is the channel number for non-local MeTV on the AT&T U-verse TV platform. That cannot be a coincidence. Where did you get the information that it was moving there?

For DirecTV Stream customers, COZI is on Ch 80. Available in Choice Package and above. I don't think it's available to satellite customers.

Channel 136 came from the AT&T channel guide this morning. I checked to know if MeTV was still available there. Channel 80 is currently an infomercial station, not COZI, in the DFW area.

We apologize for the inconvenience @MIMIASWEll, and we understand how important it's to enjoy your programming as expected.
I want to let you know that COZI TV is NBC’s national multicast network, which launched on January 1st, 2013 as one of the multicast channels of the NBC Owned Television Stations. Therefore, the reason why our customers are experiencing this situation is because DIRECTV and the broadcasting company don't reach an agreement.
However, when agreements for networks or local stations are about to expire, DIRECTV works with the owners to negotiate renewal agreements.
In addition, Customers may see an on-screen message (crawl) running on one of their channels, or they may hear about the negotiations or a potential channel loss in some other way (e.g., news, TV commercials, websites).
If further assistance is needed, or you have any question. Please, let us know. We're here to help.

KAZD has moved Metv to its OTA channel 55.2 which directv satellite does not receive. The KAZD web site tells Direct satellite customers to "call provider". https://metv.com/wheretowatch/affiliate/623
it's still available on uverse 136 but I have no idea if we will see it back on directv satellite. It certainly won't be on channel 136 because that's a PPV channel.

Directv customer service contacted via text again. Here is the “supervisor’s” explanation of the loss of MeTV.
“It was the issue with the outage and broadcaster issue.”
when asked about COZI I was told COZI is channel 38 in my area. I do not have a channel 38. I suppose they are going to do whatever they choose. Now that Directv is kindly supplying the Spectrum competitor for my viewing pleasure I may find Ilike Spectrum more than Directv!

Ugh. I just want Me Tv back. Pay a lot of $$$ for a lot of channels I don't watch, and this is a channel I watch a lot of.

DTV didn't change anything your local channel did.
