MeTV

I live in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. Until today, I was able to enjoy MeTV using channel 55 with my DirecTV service. I had seen the notation on screen that it was about to move, but did not make note of the new channel number. Where do I tune in for MeTV now?

Your local channel moved it to a sub channel 55.2 that DTV doesn't carry so you need an OTA antenna,  DTV no longer carries it.

You'll need to contact your local station. Ask them why they moved MeTV to a subchannel that DirecTV doesn't carry.

DTV doesn't carry sub channels so there will be no METV on DTV.

There is nothing DTV can do about the channel changing their programing so bye bye.

Direct TV does have the ability to add sub-channels i.e.  247.1, 249.1, etc.  It is not fair for DTV to put this back on the customer "Contact the local station"  We have been customers for over 25 years and pay a lot of money to DTV every month

So how much more do you want to pay for DTV to add thousands more sub channels on the limited spot beams they use for local channels?

I live in Dallas & saw that notification about the Chanel move also.
MeTV moved to channel 55.2.  I have One tv that is not on cable and that’s how I picked up 55.2 to watch it.
I did a Chanel search on direct TV & could not find it- I went to the MetV website and for Dallas direct TV it said call your provider-

Satellites have only so much bandwidth for transmission. There are too many sub-channels accross the country so realistically DirecTV does NOT have the ability (not without replacing satellites IN ORBIT at the very least). Plus DirecTV would have to get an agreement and pay for all of them. That would result in a huge increase in our bills.

Bottom line the local affiliate owner chose to move the channel to a sub-channel knowing full well it would not be provided by DirecTV. Not saying it was wrong of them to do so, only that it was their choice and TV provider has no say in the matter. They only deliver the content of the channel as sent to them.

Don't know why you keep saying that, it is not broken so there is nothing to fix unless the channel returns it to their main channel DTV can't carry it.

There is a way to “fix it.”    Place it on a national feed like Dish Network and Frndly TV do.   MeTV is a highly watched Diginet.    If DIRECTV has room for tons of PPV, religious and shopping channels, they can find room for MeTv.   Indeed, DIRECTV has taken down at least three HD channels over the last few months including NBC Sports, AWE, and OAN, so there is space.

@JAL123 you clearly neglected to read the several posts others have mentioned about this like @shannon02 and @Juniper

Not true.   Those posts are wrong.  DIRECTV doesn’t have to offer a separate “beam”for each locale that MeTv broadcasts.   Dish Network has a National feed as does Frndly.   Maybe you didn’t carefully read my post.
