My directv app (at&t android device) won't connect to DVR

I cannot uninstall the DIRECTV app because it is on an AT&T network device. I have uninstalled updates twice, reinstalled, rebooted, manually typed in the IP address, had 2 "chat tecs" refresh (or whatever you call it) my dvr, I am on the exact same in-home network. Why can't my app find my dvr!!?

Hello @Nicnak,

 

Have you already registered the Genie for mobile DVR? To enable this option in your settings on the Genie see this great App Troubleshooting article. If you have already completed this step let us know so we can further assist you, and if not give it a go and let us know how it works out!

I tried as much of that as I could but it seems the instructions need updating. They say to use the 3 dots on the top right but they don't exist anymore. I verified I'm on the same network, I can use the DirecTV remote app with no problem. I went through every setting & couldn't find what would work.I tried going through app to register dvr, still didn't work.

We completely lost signal on our Genie last weekend & had to reset the whole system. Since then, the app is working just fine. Before that I was unable to find the option to "register" my Genie after looking through every single setting.
