Is anyone else having pixelation issues on NBC4 in Washington?

So the pixelation problem persists with picture breakup and sound dropouts. Why am I paying money to DirecTv for a substandard picture? I’ve heard for weeks that the issue is being addressed, but I see no evidence of this.

Like Barrydrucker I am also still experiencing the issue.  Almost 3 weeks ago you said

How about an update on how the fix is progressing!

I’ve contacted NBC4 and they have talked to DirecTv about fixing the problem. However, this problem has now been going on for at least two months with no fix in sight. I feel like those of us in the Washington area should get some amount of money back. I mean, we are paying for DirecTv and we’ve been getting a substandard product for weeks now.

Agree, we are getting a substandard product and should be entitled to some consideration, but I'm not holding my breath.

Can anyone from DirecTv actually tell me if the pixelation problem is being addressed, because it is really annoying

DirecTVhelp indicated that "We indeed keep working on this situation".  That was 3 weeks ago.

I asked for an update earlier this week but DirecTVhelp hasn't replied with any updated info.

DTV is still paying NBC4 for that signal so unless NBC4 returns some of it to DTV they are not going to return any to you.  DTV may give you a credit if you call.

I have said this before and I will say it again. No one that pays for a service should be concerned about the origin of the issue. This should be addressed and and handled by the provider. Why let this drag on and tarnish your reputation if it does originate with the signal from the station. If I have a bad part built by someone else on my car I take it back to the dealer who had no part of the origin of the problem but is very much vested in solving it. This is a DIRECTV issue!

As stated before DTV doesn't make the car.

Let's say I'm your Newspaper.  You buy the newspaper because you want the comic strips, particularly... let's say Doonesbury.  All of a sudden, Garry Trudeau appears to be providing a smeared mess.  You complain to me, I complain to the Syndicator, Syndicator might complain to Garry.  But the comics don't improve.

I, the newspaper, can't fix the comics.

There is no part of the price of the paper you can attribute to the comics.

We're at a standstill until Garry decides to fix his comics.

Now in your case Garry says he's drawing the comics right, but the courier is getting them wet because it's raining every day.

You can't tell who's at fault.  You don't know whose courier it is or why it's getting wet.  I can tell you it's Garry's courier.  He can tell you its my courier.  But apparently neither one of us can make the courier use a water-proof satchel.

My advice is don’t listen to so called expert advice on here. Last month DTV issued me a refund for a local channel problem similar to this. You should get what you pay for and if not switch providers. I know in my case DTV was only provider with the issue. I also know someone fixed it eventually and DTV agreed with me that they should provide a high quality picture and service.
