Watching from anywhere

I am out of town or out of state. Can I still watch Directtv from anywhere?

Yes, with the Directv app on a mobile device. Not all channels you get at home will be available, though.

You will not be able to watch recorded programs on the Genie when outside of your home network unless you downloaded them to your mobile device before you left.

Not simply anywhere, but you can watch some programming when not at home using the DirecTV app on a smart phone or tablet. It will not allow you to cast to TV.

Regional Sport Networks (RSNs) and local channels might not be available once out of their permitted coverage area.

You cannot stream out of country.

There is no out-of-home streaming of your recordings.

If you have the 2nd generation Genie (HR44) or later, you can use MobileDVR to temporarily (30 days) copy recordings to your phone/tablet for offline viewing.
