1080p vs 1080i

I have U-Verse in my home ,and I am wondering when AT&T is going to catch up and start sending HD signals in 1080p, since they now own Directv that uses 1080p, It does no good having a HD TV if your provider will not use the 1080p format, with 1080i the picture looks foggy, not sharp at all, I have had Directv in the past and that picture is fantastic.

Is DirectTV broadcasting regular programming in 1080p now?

They've had 1080p movies available from the "DirectTV Cinema" (ie: On Demand) for awhile now but I didn't know they were broadcasting regular shows too.

@ksn1954 - It is not the p vs i or even 720 vs 1080 - You can get an excellent picture with u-verse by adjusting the TV. The picture quality will vary considerably based on the origination. I find the best picture quality on ads & hand held remote, such as news segments from remote locations.

If you are having fog on HDMI, you may find standard TV settings work better on component connection.

This is a perfect example of the saying - There is no reality. Only your perception & my perception.
