2 of 4 wired receivers not working
My son recently installed a Netgear router to hopefully increase our internet speeds. However, now 2 of our receivers do not recognize the DVR recordings and the TV in those 2 rooms only works for a couple of minutes at a time before going to the "Uverse signal has been lost" gray screen. I have called tech support 3 times, but they cannot fix it on their end. They can send a technician out, but if the problem isn't on their end, it will cost me $149 (or possibly $99 depending on who you speak to). I feel like the problem is our fault since the TVs were fine until my son installed the other router. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this? To top it all off, he went back to college, so the only thing I know that he did was log into the web-based control panel to access the wireless settings.

And just how did he do that "installation"? Please outline or show a diagram of your installation? 4 wired tv? Really?
Unless you are using appropriate gigabit ethernet switches (e.g., GS108E smart switch) your problem stems from not connecting your dvr and your receivers directly to the gateway due to multicast IPTV traffic. I don't know if you can configure another router to handle this but I feel just plugging everything together like I think you have leads to the problems you are seeing.

We have used the GS108 switch for years, so yes, he went through it. We took the Netgear router off and put things back the way they were. Unfortunately, internet throughout the house is back to its sketchy self. We will have to look for another solution. When you have 2 adults and 2 older teenagers in your house, all using devices at the same time, Uverse can't handle the demand, nor does Wi-Fi reach in the bedrooms upstairs very well. We are stuck for the time being as we live off the beaten path where any upgrades to AT&T come last out here. I appreciate all of the advice!
