Is U-Verse planning to carry the ACC Network?

Which DirecTV channel will carry the new ACC Network, which launches TODAY (Aug 22)?

Been trying to get an answer to this one for five-plus months (ever since it was announced that DirecTV will in fact carry this new sports network). No luck so far, and the network launches in about 5 hours (7 p.m. EDT).

UVerse is NOT carrying the ACC Network (at this writing), but DirecTV is. However, no one seems to know--even now, a few hours before launch--on WHICH DirecTV channel the ACC Network will appear.

I'm new to this community forum.

Can you explain to me why you simply copied/pasted my last comment (on ACC Network) as your reply to that comment?

Again, you're simply repeating my post without responding to my question.

Do you not have an answer to my question?

I'm new to this forum, so perhaps I'm missing something.

Thanks, Beany.

I was thinking that would be the channel, but the guide still does not indicate it and the channel still shows up as "Channel Not Available." Hopefully it will show up at 7 (EDT) this evening, when the ACCN is scheduled to launch.

I'm surprised that DirecTV has not promoted this new programming at all--even in their on-screen messages.

I see it now--even with my eyes half open. I thought that 612 referred to something else.

Still wondering why DirecTV hasn't promoted it at all.

It says that I don't have sufficient privileges to access this link. How can I make a request for U-verse to add the ACC Network to their lineup?

Hey, I feel your pain. I was immensely relieved (and pleasantly shocked) to learn back in March that DirecTV would carry the new ACCN. My latest issue with them is different--and goes back to their ongoing carriage fee dispute with Nexstar, which happens to own our local ABC affiliate. Missing that network (ABC) will hurt me during the fast-approaching college football season, but switching providers in my case likely would offer only temporary relief since all providers appear to increasingly have these disputes with station owners. Laws need to change to put an end to the resulting blackouts, but that requires action from Congress--and we all know how painfully slow such action can be. AARRGGHH!!

Don't know about UVerse/ACCN, but I'm with you on the hassle of OTA antennas. Everyone says, "Hey, just get an OTA antenna for your local channels--piece o' cake." But what it is in truth is a major pain in the tail if you want to switch back and forth between OTA and cable/satellite to watch more than one game on one TV. I just keep hoping this DirecTV-Nexstar dispute will be resolved by Aug 31, which brings a full slate of cfb games. I'm missing my local ABC affiliate (a regular broadcaster of major cfb games) because of that dispute.

Why does DirecTV have ACC Network and not AT&T u-verse?  I wanted DirecTV installed but was told it was "impossible" to get in my new location.  Now, the very same company has it on one service and not the other?  That makes absolutely no sense.  Do better or I'm outta here when my contract expires.  Sooooooo many other options that are just as good and carry ACC network (and CBS/CW!).

Ok so I am understanding that you all have not made a deal to carry the acc network through uverse. Why is that when every other carrier has. I would think you would have already handled this. Since direct TV has made a deal. Dish network and spectrum also have. Seems like uverse is the last one to do so. If this isnt figured out in a week. I will switch my service and I'm sure most people in Louisville Ky will do the same. Please let me know some answers.

Pretty sure that's an FCC decision why they cant carry that channel throughout all their providers, seem to have read that somewhere in the forums. something about it would be a step in the direction of a monopoly if they just allowed every channel on all platforms, i could be wrong its just what i read
