Advice on upgrading and protecting my router given the FBI's cautions on Russian hacking?

I have a Pace Router from AT&T (model 5268AC). Do I need to anything regarding FBI notes regarding Russian hacking?

Nothing you can do.  If or when att decides a firmware update is necessary they will push it when they decide to.

You can always reboot your modem if it makes you feel better.  Smiley Happy

I have ATT's 2Wire router. Do they automatically update this one as well?  Thank you.

Att supports all the routers they issue.

After reading the Times article at

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/13/technology/personaltech/wi-fi-router-security.html

this bromide is not especially comforting.  It would be nice to get a written assurance from AT&T that there is no problem with my 2WIRE router (which I did reset by turning it off then back on).  AT&T can you step up to the plate?

Having the same problem our router is accessed by at least 5other apartments, when we changed access code and password att techs show up and reinstall at the other apartments. The second time we changed they went to the other apartments and gave them a receiver that kept showing up on our network map, att for six months have allowed this to happen and they also have a camera on their receiver that was hacked by these same neighbors and have been whatching us in the privacy of our home without our knowledge for six months. All our devices and emails are hacked and they keep deleting my posts(posted this yesterday and was taking down by the same people) if you live in Biloxi ms, specially at the Lexington apartments stay away from att if you expect any respect of your privacy!
