AMC HD problems

Is anyone having problems with the picture freezing on AMC HD? It's basically unwatchable and un-DVR-able. Regular AMC is fine, as well as every other channel. The problem seemed to start about two weeks ago.

I'm in the north DFW area. I noticed the problem after AT&T added the Masters TV App on channel 1115. AMC HD is on channel 1119.

I'm here in metro Detroit and watch AMC HD 1132 every weekday from about 12 noon to 4pm CSI Miami and Criminal Minds and it's always perfect. 1119, I still have no problems, now w/a subtitled movie (Godfather pt 2).

Has to be a specific area having the problem, I'd contact ATT Uverse Care on the link in my signature.

Send them a private message, on this link, and they should be able to give the help needed to solve your Uverse service AMC HD 1132 1119 problems. They are available M-F 8am-11pm Eastern time (also around on weekends), response may take up to 2 business days.

This is not the regular CS/TS phone people, but the social media Community Specialists that know the people to contact to get things done. I personally know as they've helped me on a DVR swap and gone above and beyond.

Include your name, account #, email address and a good phone # (land or cell) and time to contact you on.

Check the blue PM envelope, upper right on every page, for their reply. Good luck 😉

If you're having a picture freezing problem with AMC HD it will appear within seconds of selecting the channel. I have tried a hard reboot and that did nothing. The problem appears on all my receivers: DVR, wired, and wireless. The frozen picture clears when I select a different channel and return to AMC HD, but the picture freezes again within seconds.

Trying to DVR Mad Men on AMC HD was how I found the problem. It wasn't freezing while Walking Dead was on. However, I found the last Mad Men episode on demand. On a whim I decided to check knowing AMC hasn't been on demand and, eh, it was there. Just one AMC show. I recorded last night's episode in SD, though. Bummer on my big screen... as if compressed HD isn't already bad enough.

Recorded "The Royals" on E! HD last night. Same thing!!! Started out OK then so much pixelation, etc, that it was unwatchable.

I am in Richardson. Couldn't find the Mad Men premiere on demand so I sprung for it on Amazon Video. Recorded last night's episode in SD as well. Hope a fix is coming soon. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

The issue may be fixed. I've got Turn on AMC HD right now and the picture hasn't stalled once.

Last night's Mad Men is on again at 2 a.m. Tuesday (I think) so if you want to give the DVR a go maybe it will work. That's what I am going to do.

Mad Men episode 708 is on demand through the On Demand menu. You can search or scroll through the free networks listing to find AMC and it's the only one there. It doesn't show up in the DVR programs list.

Good luck.
