ATT vs. Fox 35 (1003) - saga continues
See previous post re: "Fox 35 (channel 1003) Cropped picture"
We had a full picture (corrected after 3-week effort) for a short week (6-days). Tonight - somewhere mid-eveing - picture reverted back to cropped view (top & bottom cut off).
We rec'd a direct call from station in reponse to our hard-copy letter (with pictures) saying this was a ATT problem - they had -0- issues pending - and provide direct fiber optic feed to ATT - where - they say signal is compressed for distribution.
After tonight's issue returned - ATT again saying the issue is with Fox 35 (1003)
As we PAY $$$ for full feed from all channels we subscribe to - why would ATT keep telling us issue is with local station - and "we" should contact them for correction.... B S !!
Absoutley terrible 1st 3 months with Uverse. We are about to leave ATT - we have 2 cell phones, land line telephone, internet & tv via Uverse - we have options...
Here is our picture again tonight at ~ 10:15 - local news....
2/20/2016 - Fox 35 (1003) Cropped
And tomorrow is Daytona 500 - carried by Fox -
Decision day for us..........

Now the issue is expanding - 1009 (local ABC, WFTV) is also cropped - top & bottom.
Best to move on from Uverse - since issue is not being addressed.

re: Now the issue is expanding - 1009 (local ABC, WFTV) is also cropped - top & bottom.
Suggesting that the fault is in equipment common to both or another occurance in the same type of equipment. But, not in equipment common to other channels

The 2nd channel showing up cropped (1009, ABC local) will stay cropped for 30-45 secs., then goes to full screen. If you change channel, then return to 1009 - cropped again.
1003 is cropped full time - no change.
Will report update tomorrow after tech visit. Kinda losing hope ATT will be able to resolve this issue. We are only -1- customer, not that important, apparently, but we use ATT for 2 smart phones, land line to house, UVerse for Internet & tv. Will work with tech tomorrow, but not very hopeful.

Also - really bad timing for this issue - in our Orlando metro area, the Daytona 500 race is a big deal. We planned to have friends over to watch - now - all changed. Fox 35 (1003) is station that carries race - and that is primary station that is cropped. Very unhappy with ATT service. We'll visit friends and watch race on Brighthouse.

I have to wonder if that is specific to a single VRAD, only a couple users complaining in the 2 threads. If it was Orlando wide, there'd be 50-100 or more complainers here, 1000s calling.

I live in east central Florida (New Smyrna Beach) and I am not having any problems with Fox 35 or ABC 1009. I also have a 46" Sony Bravia TV.
In six years with U-verse I have had very few TV broadcast issues. Internet is another story. It is the slowest.

WFTV - 1009 - still comes in cropped this AM - then, if we se "channel up, then, channel down" on the remote - the station (1009) comes in perfectly. This same process does not work for 1003 (Fox).
We missed the Daytona 500 race coverage on our TV - as the top & bottom scrolling part of picture was completely cut off.... Disappointing - as previously shared.
ATT Tech arriving today. - bet they replace equipment yet again....
Very strange that this is occurring with only the "local" channel(s) though....

I demand that AT&T let me watch Fox 35 in Orlando here in St. Louis. Or at least let me watch the Fox 35 News at 10 for Kirstin Delgado.

Ok frustration ideled somewhat -
ATT here yesterday, returning this AM. Issue with local station cropping was apparently the receiver DVR (8010). Exlanation we rec'd was the 8010 is the newest, but, it requires fiber optic feed much closer to home than our situation. Fiber is 1 1/2 miles away from our neighborhood, and 8010 was unable to provide a full picture from copper feed over that distance. They replaced DVR with the Cisco (our original setup) and picture is back full on both 1003 and 1009. The telling indicator (receiver issue) was when they saw the cropped pictures on both channels, then, on one of those channels (1009), if you used remote to channel up, then down, full picture returned. 1003 would never expand to full picture.
However, while they were testing everything afterward, they were no satisfied with the cable feed ATT installed through attic - and are returning this AM to replace the cable from outside box, to the router / gateway location.

ATT (replaced) new Cat5 cable to gateway. Not knowledgeable of their meters to evaluate system speed, but as tech worked on wiring, he was sharing readings from his evaluation equipment. They were mostly concerned with (2) numbers, on both broadband channels. Results were unacceptable with prior cable - but only slightly improved with new cable. They focused on numbers: 80 / 47 - 84 / 43 ??? (Original readings before new cable was 93 over 43 - saying 90's + unacceptable ??)
Tech supervisor eventually said that was as good as it would get - tech said - until fiber optic gets closer to house.
Picture is full on both 1003 & 1009 - has remained good with Cisco DVR as replacement of Pace 8010.
Issue is resolved, we believe.
ATT technicians always professional & courteous - just frustrating to have to request service calls (3) times within our (3) months with Uverse service.
anybody know what those primary readings mean ?? i.e.: 83 over 43, etc. ?
