ATT welcome screen just keeps spinning

My service was installed about three weeks ago.  My TV died the day before my installation.  I hooked the cable up to small TV I forgot I had. I get the rethink possible screen and ATT Uverse screen which spins and spins and spins until it tells me service is not available and quit client.

I did just find out the cable btw the receiver and the router was in the wrong port?  Would that explain the lack of connection?  thanks.

Take a look at this manual to make sure the cords are all plugged into the right spot.  http://www.att.com/media/en_US/swf/uverse_center/uverse/downloads/att-series-receiver-install-manual.pdf

This manual is fro a Cisco receiver but if you have a Motorola they connect the same.  I just wanted to provide you something to reference that shows the connections on the back.  You should have either a Cat 5 Ethernet cord plugged into the back of the box or a coax cable screwed on to bring the signal in.

If those connections are all okay, you can reset the residential gateway by unplugging the power from the back of it and then plug it back in an let it come back up.  See if that fixes it.
