Bait and Switch on channel line-ups
I just signed up for U-Verse yesterday. The installer was great and stayed untill I got the best reception in my family room. He then went over the basics, showed me how to use the control, and I asked him where AMC was located as we are big "Walking Dead" fans.
He said that we might want to upgrade to get that channel that our Ufamily did not offere it. I said, "Oh, yeah, it does. Let me show you." So I got online and showed him the page where it showed the channels offered on Ufamily. They were at the bottom of the page but were listed as Add-ons!
I got on the phone to "Dennis" from India, and he said that no those can be added on if I went to the next level U200.
This is a classic Bait and Switch! The layout for the line-ups on all the pages is very confusing. If I had seen the line-up as it is listed in the Intro pack that I got from the installer, I would have seen that the channels we wanted were not there.
Dispicable! They gave me a $30 credit but i have to pay the entire cost of U200. I wonder how many others have been sucked into U-Verse this way?

Same issue but my channel was USA. We were told by our Sales Rep we could add on this channel, but then found out we had to move to a new pckage to get anything beyond standard local channels and "commercial only" channels.

I don't think this is an example of "bait & switch" but an example of not doing one's homework.
When we were approached by a D2D salesman 8 years ago, Uverse was new and I was cynical. My main question was "Can I get HGTV and DIY?". He said yes but I needed to see it in writing. I asked him for his channel guide ("It's the only one I have!") and I told him to come back tomorrow.
I checked the different packages available and when I saw that the channels I wanted were on U300, I made an informed decision.
