Nope, controlled by ATT. Can get it off by pressing 'back'. 😉

Problem I've had w/that @skeeterintexas is if watching a recording and you hit Exit right when the banner disappears or it interprets 2 pushes of the Exit button, you're back on Live TV.
I've had that happen many times, especially w/this 1225 that can get really sludgy to button pushes.

Nope, not on U-Verse. The only other similar system that I had (Comcast digital cable) allowed you to select a time but not with AT&T. I think Comcast's was like 2, 4 or 6 seconds, maybe?

Oh, how I'd love to get rid of my 1225...without losing recordings. Once you get one recording, you're basically stuck with that box. (Now, I have heard there may be a method for some enterprising individuals to put the recordings onto a DVD or PC, but that's above me.)
What I may want to do is attempt some mojo and see if I can get another wireless STB for that TV. That would speed things up AND not cause me to lose recordings. AFAIC, my 1225 can just sit there on the shelf, connected to a power source and incoming coax and be good. The wireless would then be connected to the TV.

i believe adding a wireless STB to watch with the 1225 dedicated to recording will not improve your speed.
I was always an advocate of minimizing the DVR/TV activity. Dedicating it to recording/playback. But, I have observed that it does slow down response.
I have a 1250 connected to the RG with a two foot cat5 cable & an STB, also with the two foot cat5 connection.
The STB is so slow in responding that I will not use it to puruse the guide & recordings. I do that on the 1250 while watching live on the STB.
To gain speed the only answer is direct view of a 1250.
