Can I add services to my U-300 service?
I have 1 Gbps fiber and U-300. When I try to add a service, it brings me to Direct-TV and it seems like all I can do is switch services. However, although "TV-5 USA" is listed as available on U-Verse, I don't see it on Direct-TV.
I have a U-Verse U-300 and a Gigabit Fiber bundle.
1. Can I add services on U-Verse or is this now blocked and pushed to Direct-TV?
2. If I switch to Direct-TV, do I keep my 1 Gbps U/D fiber at the same price? (bundled, or separate?)
3. The U-Verse TV units are fed via CAT5 cable (home is LAN wired). Are the Direct-TV boxes linked to the fiber gateway the same way?
4. Has Direct-TV dropped TV-5 USA as an option?

Att separated internet and TV products years ago. You are at liberty to use any available TV product without affecting your internet. If you give up your U-verse TV service, you cannot get it back.
Is TV5 channel 3832? I’d try calling 800-ATT-2020 to see if they can add a specific channel to your account. Hadn’t heard anything in regard to the question of adding or changing within U-verse TV.

I recently changed my U-300 to U-200 and stuff like this should still be allowed. It's my understanding that nothing is "restricted" and U-Verse will continue as normal. All that really happened (so far) was that they made it impossible for new customers to sign up.
If you move, your U-Verse can move with you.
If you cancel, you cannot go back to U-Verse.
Remember that you get HBO Max with your Internet 1000.

If you are referring to TV5MONDE, there is an option to add it from your TV screen when you are on ch. 3832.

Thanks to everyone.
- I should have said "DirecTV Stream" as I don't want the satellite dish.
- I will stay on U-Verse's U-300 unless they "push" me to switch with big rate increases
- What is hard to figure out is if I moved to DirecTV Stream, would my " Internet 1000" rate increase? I did read that I would lose the bundled HBOmax, but I can live with that.
- My understanding is that the "TV converter" they provide is fed via Wi-Fi from the at&t fiber gateway, which is also a Wi-Fi router. I don't know if it can be connected to my LAN like the at&t U-verse converters are. I have a 1 Gbps LAN and as Wi-Fi in this condo complex is heavily used, the wired approach eliminates issues one could have on the crowded Wi-Fi channels. Yes, I presently have "ChromeCast 4K" and my TVs are also on Wi-Fi for streaming services.
- TV5monde - I contacted them and they told me that they no longer offer new connections to at&t. In my area, neither at&t nor DirecTV Stream are shown as supported on TV5-Monde's website. at&t U-Verse used to be on their list, not anymore. They told me I would need to use "Sling".
- PBS - I read that DirecTV Stream is slowly adding PBS stations to their services. Unfortunately, as of today, my local PBS station (KPBS) is not. However, it is on my current U-Verse 300 :-)
Conclusion: I will do more research work to compare plans, but it's not easy as there is no simple "one stop shop" where I can compare what I have today on at&t U-Verse to what I would have if I switched. I am referring to services (TV and Internet) and pricing.

This is one of those "your mileage may vary" situations, but for the past several years, I've called up, politely threatened to cancel and they've come back with reduced rates and various promotions to get me to stay.
I'm paying $40/mo for Internet 1000 and something like $60-70 for U-200 with HD. I have two wireless receivers I'm paying nothing for.
All I do is put a reminder in my phone to call back when the promotions are about to expire. My rates do go up a few bucks early every year, but only because the promotions are "dollars off" and not "guaranteed rates."
Like I said, your mileage may vary.
And your HBO Max stays with you since you get Internet 1000...as long as you keep that speed, you're good. (Some cities are rolling out faster speeds for AT&T internet and those include HBO Max.)
