Can't access uverse.com using chromebook from hotel wifi

I have tried to access uverse.com from my new chromebook using wifi from two different hotels wifi.  I type in uverse.com for the URL, click on Sign In and get redirected to this giant URL:

I replaced my true email with USERNAME@bellsouth.net in the link above.  Once I get redirected to the giant URL, I see a login screen where I can login to att.com, att.net or uverse.com.  No matter which one I select to log in to, I enter my login credentials and get this error:

Request-URI Too Large

The requested URL's length exceeds the capacity limit for this server.

Is there a setting in the chrome browser I need to set in order to access uverse.com?
