Cant sign into SyFy on my Roku
I use a Roku with my AT&T internet. AT&T will not let me access it the SyFy channel even though it is offered on my Roku. The message I get is Sorry we can not process your request at this time. Why can I not get SyFy through my AT&T internet?

Do you have a television package that includes Syfy?

Syfy and other apps like it aren't going to let you view their premium content if you're not paying for it through the app itself or a TV service/subscription.

You can only access 'paid' channels if they are part of your paid TV service (Uverse, DirecTV, etc.).
This would include but not limited to SyFy, TLC, HGTV, FoodNetwork, AnimalPlanet and A&E.

Ok thanks, I have the same issue in watching some of the Fox Network as well. I didn't know if ATT just didn't have an agreement with them or why it was since I can add the app on my Roku. I don't have Uverse or DirecTV just internet through ATT.

The "cable channel" apps are primarily for people who subscribe to the channel via some video provider (U-verse, DIRECTV, AT&T NOW, Dish, Xfinity, Spectrum, etc.). The login they want is for the video provider you subscribe to.
The new "+" services require a subscription specifically for that service and normally do not come along for the ride with a video subscription.
Even the CBS app (for a free OTA broadcast channel) requires a video provider login if you don't have the subscription.

How is it I can watch all of the shows on my phone which is with Verizon without a subscription. On ATT I can watch some of the shows but some of the shows I cant.

For clarity WRT the phone/VZW vs Roku/AT&T:
- What channels?
- What App on phone?
- What app on Roku?
- How do you log in to the app on your phone on Verizon?
- How do you log in to the app on your Roku on AT&T?
- Live or On Demand?

Ok SyFy I loaded on Roku from their streaming channels list, on my phone from Play store. Roku was loaded with me entering my roku password, the app opens and some of the shows will play, some ask me to sign in and ATT will not let me access them when I enter my password. Verizon phone I just click on what ever video I want to see and it plays, (all of the shows so far) no extra charges, no subscription, etc. Seems to be an issue with ATT not allowing some content from SyFy to go through but I dont know why it would allow some and not others from the same streaming channel.

You do not log in to the SyFy app on your phone?
AT&T makes deals with some providers that restrict what is available on "large screens." This rears it's head when you try to cast from a phone to a TV, or connect an HDMI cable from an iPad to a TV; show works fine before you cast, but won't cast. Roku is intrinsically a large screen device.
I do not know if this is what is happening, but is a possibility.

Thats what I was thinking as far as ATT was concerned. the log in on my phone and Roku is the same, username and password to log on. Thanks for the input.
