CBS screen doesn't fit any of my televisions
Does anyone else have a problem with CBS channel being too wide for any television? All other channels are fine. I have gone through all tests and cannot find anything that changes it. I don't think it is a Uverse problem, but I don't know where to go with this.

Only the one channel? Is the it's SD channel or it's HD channel? And is it every program they show on that channel or just certain shows? There is the case where a HD program (local news is usually a classic example) when viewed on a SD channel will be cut off at both the left and right ends because the station is too lazy (or it's cheaper to broadcast it that way) to scale it to a 4 x 3 picture. When you view its HD channel you know its deliberate because you will see the stations bug (channel logo) inset form the bottom right instead of being in the bottom right.
If it's all programs on that one channel and it's the HD channel then I have no explanation. If the CBS feed is from a local station, call the station.

Thanks xyzzy.
I think it is the channel. I only do SD on my Uverse. It looks like CBS here is using HD. It makes sense to me.

Just wanted to add - that my CBS channel fits the screen now. I didn't contact my local station, but watching the shows today, everything was normal.

I have the same problem on my ABC -standard definition (u-verse ch 7) and also on the MeToo (u-verse ch136). The ABC sd channel is like this on all shows but it is fine when you switch to the high def version.

I see no problem. That picture looks fine, exactly as it is intended to look. Any uverse channel below 1000 is a SD channel so you are seeing a 4 x 3 SD picture on your HD tv. If you want to stretch and pull the picture using the uverse and tv's zoom controls that's your business. But again there is no problem here.

I mentioned this in post 2. Some channels simply lop off their HD image on each side to give it a 4 x 3 aspect ratio for their SD feed and in the cases you show don't even care what that lop off even if it's their id bug or part of it. I suppose when you stop to think of it there might be the possibility of uverse taking the HD feed and lopping off either side and in that case it is what it is.
