WYND-TV is a station in Massachusetts. That might explain why you can't get it in Indiana. However, WYIN-TV is channel 56 in Gary. I see no recent announcements that carriage of this channel is ending (these announcements are normally found at http://programmingchanges.att.com/ ). It may have something to do with WTTW covering the Chicago area as well.
It is a PBS station in Gary Indiana and has been on in the Chicago area for years went to watch something a few days ago and it said technical difficulties and is,still showing it days later
Ah... you could have mentioned the "technical difficulties" banner in your original post. You may also want to contact the station to encourage them to fix, or help AT&T fix, the issue (depending on where the issue lies).
If people would just read the tips given in this Community Blog (written by a very smart, dare I say genius, community member) it would help us to give answers waaaaay faster.
WXIN lost their transmitter during a storm in July and are still trying to repair it. It is still available on Comcast/Xfinity cable service. http://lakeshorepublicmedia.org/outage/
