Customer Service Rep just lied to me and admitted they lied
I came home to a dead DVR box and called AT&T about bringing it in and switching it out for a new one. Can't do that. "It's against policy" I kept asking to speak to managers or someone higher up. Finally ended up with Ryan. I had also been online and found the name, phone number and email of the CEO of AT&T. I finally gave up trying to get my problem solved and agreed to a service call which meant I had to cancel my out of town weekend plans and lose my hundreds of dollars deposit. I told Ryan I had the CEO's info, mentioned his name and informed him I was not giving up on this and I was planning on taking my complaint to the CEO. I asked Ryan for his direct phone number to add it to the complaint. He got quiet and finally said they didn't have direct numbers that could be called. I asked for his extension number. He said they didn't have them because they move around from position to position. Both are lies as I have gotten direct numbers from other reps during service calls before. He then said he could give me his agent ID number. I didn't ask for this, he offered it. I said great, give it to me. Once he did, I asked for the Agent ID number for Charity, who I had spoken with previously and had transferred me to Ryan when I asked to speak with her supervisor/manager. He then told me, what he had given me wasn't actually his agent ID number, but was in fact the case number of my complaint. So I said. "you lied to me" He said "yes, I'm sorry" He lied to me, admitted he lied to me and I hope to god they really do record all their phone conversations cause he got recorded lying and admitting he lied to a customer. I also found out that instead of him being Charity's higher up, she is in fact his manager. She had gotten him to pretend to be her manager to LIE to a customer. I just send an email to Mr. Randall Stephenson, CEO and I'm headed to Twitter and Facebook next. Not only crappy service, stupid policies that work against the customer, but apparently all their service reps lie to their customers.

I believe it is most peoples experience that AT&T Lies. I went into the AT&T store in Hot Springs at 1412 Higdon Ferry in Hot Springs Arkansas (501) 520-0153 on December 1, 2018. I asked if my plan covered me calling out if I traveled to Mexico. The representative looked me up on her electronic pad and then said yes I was covered. She said there would be no cost to call from Mexico. Because I had been given bad information before from AT&T in the past, I asked could I take a picture of what she was looking at. The rep said no they do not allow that. I explained that if I did travel and got a big bill I would have no evidence that I checked with AT&T before I left. The rep went and got the manager to help and he said they couldn't give me anything in writing and I would have to just accept their word for it. I asked again could they at least print out the contract portion and circle it so I had something I could reference and he said no. I left and contacted AT&T service center online and they said no it was not covered and set me up with a day pass for 10 dollars a day for when I traveled. The discussion was on line and I was able to download it to my phone. I went back to show the manager they gave me bad information. He never let me say over four words and he escorted me to the door ordering me to leave. He never gave his name. I called customer service and tried to complain and they said they are not responsible for the stores but was sorry it happened. Of course I was on the phone holding for over 1 hour and spoke to two representatives before I got that answer.

I would like to add to my frustration... came back from a week’s vacation to have my internet service not working... called customer service and they tried to troubleshoot. Could not resolve unless a technician could come out 3 1/2 days later... I said that was unacceptable... could not get higher than the overseas phone bank that I got switched to... when asked for a manager they said they would call me back in 2 hours ... which would be midnight... get your sh#t together ATT... you’ve lost another customer...

Omg ,last year I went with my sister in-law to get a new phone and service, never had one,so (long story in the store short )lol they said I couldn’t because of my credit, they also said I could get it under my sister in-law name so I went out and ask her,she called my brother he said it was up to her,she ok it ,went inside she sign papers,so this year me and her got into a small argument and about a wk later I called AT&T and “TOLD THEM THAT I WANTED MY OWN ACCOUNT,new phones, and lines,so the guy that I was talking to took down all my info and said we have to do a credit ck and I said that’s fine,he comes back he says your approved,so I’m thinking everything went good,I got my phones but they where in her name,so I called bk they said it’s because of your old phone (lie) and so I waited for my first bill, never came .. so I cb,they ask for my password I gave them it and the girl said we sent it to #### i was like omg no why did you send it there ,”well the account is under Sarah’s name “ I was like NO it’s sopost to be in mine and mine only,”after talking to them they said that she had to call and tell them that she’s signing it over to me,so I called her and told her,I knew she would be upset I would be upset,I told her the whole story and she said she had a 400. bill that she didn’t know what for, she’s like this sounds fishy,I said let me cb and I’ll find out what it is ,she said ok but she didn’t ,we both was talking to AT&T and both of AT&T people was wanting to talk to each other,it was crazy. So when she was talking to her AT&T people she asked how this happened, they told her I stole her ssn or her password, she said that 3 people told her this .after everything was taken care of,I tried to call her it went to voice mail so I cb she answered yes we got into a fight because she believed them and I ended up hanging up on her and texting my brother telling him that I didn’t lie to her ,he said “ it’s all black and white and your a lied “I said I’m calling AT&T bk tomorrow he ok.. I cried so hard because they didn’t believe me they took a strangers word..I did call them bk and I talked to this really cool guy and he said that she has to be on the phone to give her password,or ssn number, I ask how can I get those first calls he said only threw courts,I said “looks like I’m going to court “
SORRY SO LONG BUT THIS IS MY LIES FROM AT&T ...oh the first guy lied and kept it in her name so he could get the sale .vjv.

So your policy is to Reguse to transfer customers to managers and then to get coworkers, or insubordinates, to Lie about being a supervisor/manager and to not give out proper agent id #’s? That’s an awesome policy, you should be proud.

I dealt with them reopening my account and sending me to collections WITH NO BILL BEING SENT TO ME. I had claim numbers and IDs, one supervisor called me a liar and hung up on me. I had a voicemail proving I wasn’t a liar and wanted them to bring up my recordings and they said they do not record my phone calls. I asked about the “this call will be recorded for training purposes” and they said they don’t record calls. I am 25 years old with 1 credit card and AT&T has ruined my credit score, has been harassing me for 4 years and have laughed when I cried on the phone, called me a liar and told me to grow up. DO NOT GIVE ATT YOUR BUSINESS.
