I am so sorry about the issues you are having with your DVR recordings. Try unplugging the power on the DVR, waiting 1 minute, and plugging it back. Give it a few minutes after it boots up to see if the recordings are there. If not, you can try a non-destructive recovery by doing the following:
Unplug the receiver or DVR power cord from the wall or back of the box.
Wait 10 seconds.
Plug in the receiver and DVR.
When three white dots appear on the screen, unplug the receiver/DVR again.
Repeat this process two more times.
Plug the receiver/DVR back in on the third time and leave in. Three white dots appear followed by a gear with a status bar at the bottom of the screen.
If the Disaster Recovery screen does not appear, repeat the steps above.
Thank you for your help we did try what you suggested and unfortunately the recordings did not come back. If you have any more ideas as to what I can try, please advise

Re-record what you can and maybe see what you can watch online; which I did when my 2250 died. Especially 'cable' shows that seem to always to be repeated.
The N-D Disaster Recovery that David T mentioned above re-downloaded all the software, so it might take care of the problem. Seems it might be due to a software glitch or bug that's fixed by re-downloading all the software. 😉
