Emergency Alert Tests
I am new to Uverse....only a couple days into it. Last night I fell asleep with the television radio station on. I was awoken into an almost heart attack at 2330 due to the test of the emergency alert system going off. It was at least twice the volume that my station had been on. I had to then hit the enter button to clear it/stop it. After falling back asleep, I was lucky enough to be awoken again at 2400. Being new, I really need to find a way to disable the on air alerts or at least silence them a tad, especially if they are going to continue to go off when the moon is out. Customers on the community board, while the posts were older, were commenting that theirs went off several times each week. Any way to disable the alerts or modify them in any way? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I did see one last night. But that's rare. It's been literally months and months since the previous one that I've seen.

@psychgal I've had them 3-4 am after I get home from work. Since I've had Uverse for 7+ years, they were really loud years ago, but a couple years ago they made them much quieter.
One I had earlier this week, abt 2 pm, b4 I went work was not much louder, but it's at 100% VU; whereas programs are from 25-90% VU. Just like commercials 'seem' louder they use the same trick. 😉

@psychgal I think in some areas, they may be louder than they should. So, it may be a local issue. I would recommend that you send a private message to the escalation team at AT&T Customer Care, and someone will get in touch with you.
